Statement of Faith

The Scriptures: We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and are thus totally free from all error. The Bible is our only authority in faith and practice. (II Peter 1:19-21; II Timothy 3:16)

God
: We believe that there is only one living and true God; eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal, with distinct offices, but working in perfect harmony. (Exodus 20 :2,3; I Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11)

Fall of Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that he fell from that state through sin. As a result, men are born with a sin nature and all are lost and in need of redemption.
(Genesis 1:27; 3:1-6, 24; Romans 3:10-19; 5:12,19)

The Ministry of Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin in a miraculous manner that will never be repeated. He is true God and true man.
(Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14)

Forgiveness of Sin: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a vicarious atonement, and that all who receive Him are justified by the shedding of his blood.
(Isaiah 53:4-7; II Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:1-6)

We believe in the literal, physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and His ascension into the heavenlies , where He sits at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest.
(Matthew 28:5,7; Acts 1:9-11: I Corinthians 15:1-4; I John 2:1)

The Return of Christ: We believe in the imminent literal, bodily, pre-millennial appearing of Jesus Christ to translate those in Christ, both living and dead into the heavenlies.
(I Corinthians 15:42-58; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; John 14:3)

We believe in the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ with His church, to set up His kingdom of righteousness on earth. (Matthew 24:29, 30; Revelation 20:1-4; Isaiah 11:1-16)

Salvation
: We believe that salvation is divinely initiated and offered as a free. unmerited gift to all mankind by the grace and mercy of God. Upon repentance from sin and faith in Christ, man is justified in the sight of God and receives complete forgiveness of sins. (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8,9)

The Saved and the Lost: We believe in the eternal nature of the soul, whose final residence will be either in Heaven or Hell. Those that have turned to Christ in faith and repentance will have everlasting, conscience fellowship with Him in heaven, but those that rejected Christ will go to hell and finally cast into the Lake of Fire to suffer everlasting torment.
(Matthew 25:34-41; Romans 6:23, 24; In John 5:19; Revelation 20:14, 15)

The Security of the Believer: We believe that God , at salvation, sets the believer apart and keeps him by divine power eternally secure. ) John 10:28,29; Ephesians 1:14; Philippians 1:16; Romans 8:31-38; Jude 24)

The Church: We believe that the local church is and assembly of baptized believers of like faith associated for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government and is the sole judge of the measure and method of its co-operation with others.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has commissioned the Church to take the gospel to the world and that it is the responsibility of every member to participate personally in achieving this goal.

The Ordinances: We believe that there are two church ordinances:

  • Believers' Baptism, which is by full immersion in water, a prerequisite to church membership.
  • The Communion Service, which commemorates the Lord's death until he returns ( Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5; I Corinthians 11:23-32)

Satan: We believe that Satan is a fallen angel, presently the malignant prince of the power of the air and  man's great temptor, the enemy of God, the accuser of the saints, the authour of false religions - destined, however, to final defeat and eternal judgement in the lake of fire. (Matthew 25:41; II Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:20)

Creation
: We believe in the Genesis account of creation, and we accept it literally, rejecting and evolutionary explanation of man's development. (Genesis 1; John 1:3; Colossians 1 :16, 17)

Separation: We believe that God commands believers to be separated unto Him:
1. Ecclesiastically: from those who deny the verities of the faith once delivered to the saints;
2. Ethically, guarding our Christian testimony by abstaining from the appearance of evil.
(Romans 16:17; II Corinthians 6:14-18: I Thessalonians 5:20; II John 9-11)
