Statement of Faith
The Scriptures: We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be
verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and are thus totally free from all error. The
Bible is our only authority in faith and practice. (II
Peter 1:19-21; II Timothy 3:16) We believe in the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ with His church, to set up His kingdom of righteousness on earth. (Matthew 24:29, 30; Revelation 20:1-4; Isaiah 11:1-16)Salvation: We believe that salvation is divinely initiated and offered as a free. unmerited gift to all mankind by the grace and mercy of God. Upon repentance from sin and faith in Christ, man is justified in the sight of God and receives complete forgiveness of sins. (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8,9) The Saved and the Lost: We believe in the eternal nature of the soul, whose final residence will be either in Heaven or Hell. Those that have turned to Christ in faith and repentance will have everlasting, conscience fellowship with Him in heaven, but those that rejected Christ will go to hell and finally cast into the Lake of Fire to suffer everlasting torment. (Matthew 25:34-41; Romans 6:23, 24; In John 5:19; Revelation 20:14, 15) The Security of the Believer: We believe that God , at salvation, sets the believer apart and keeps him by divine power eternally secure. ) John 10:28,29; Ephesians 1:14; Philippians 1:16; Romans 8:31-38; Jude 24) The Church: We believe that the local church is and assembly of baptized believers of like faith associated for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government and is the sole judge of the measure and method of its co-operation with others. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has commissioned the Church to take the gospel to the world and that it is the responsibility of every member to participate personally in achieving this goal. The Ordinances: We believe that there are two church ordinances:
Satan: We believe that Satan is a fallen angel,
presently the malignant prince of the power of the air and man's great temptor, the
enemy of God, the accuser of the saints, the authour of false religions - destined,
however, to final defeat and eternal judgement in the lake of fire. (Matthew 25:41; II Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:20) |
